Blog #8

When I first heard we were going to make a digital story as our biggest assignment in this quarter, I was nervous and worried, because I am not good at using any programs from computer. It took me a while to figure out how to use Audacity and Movie Maker even though Dr. Bloch had showed us the basic skills for these programs. I kept rerecording my voice for my digital story, because I wanted to make it look good, I wanted my audiences to enjoy the digital story. However, it was hard to schedule the whisper room at SEl, because we had two classes need to use the whisper room, and I was not sure about my audiences can understand my digital story when they watch it. I had a lot idea on my first draft of the digital story. But I could not make a main point of view in my digital story because of tons of thing that I wanted to put into my digital story. I think that is different from writing an academic essay. Finding images and music was not hard for me and the digital story I made. Somehow I enjoyed looking for pictures from my computer for the digital story.

During the process of making my digital story, I learned how to use MLA style to cite my intellectual property correctly. I use MLA style to cite my sources since high school, but I always confuse about which one should go first, and I forget to put them in alphabet order all the time. I downloaded music and few pictures from the internet and know how to make a good reference on my work after this assignment. It was a helpful assignment for me to learn having originality but also follow copyrights and use the right technology to give credit.
