Can’t live without music

Playing piano during performances gave me important experiences in my life. The average temperature seemed to be increasing exponentially to 36 centigrade during the last days of June in Taiwan. Occasionally, my fingers would run numerous miserable laps around the keyboard. At the end of the practice, my fingers would be sweat and tremble, and I would have developed the hyperthyroidism-like symptoms. “If you don’t get any prize from this competition, you would have to practice seven hours a day”, my piano teacher used to warm. So I used to dislike playing piano. But more practice made me better in playing music. Though, I counted down the days till the piano competition, swearing never to touch the keys on my piano keyboard again

I hated playing piano when I was a child because it sounded noisy and stupid while I was practicing. Moreover, my piano teacher was a severe and harsh person. She hated mistakes but I didn’t like to follow notations on music, most of time, I created my own music. She was always mad at me about that. Once time she blamed me for making stupid music and not trying hard enough to learn from those great musicians. I felt dejected and hurt. I screamed at her and cried very loudly. I hated the way she always criticized me. Therefore, I stopped taking piano lessons from her. However, I continued to take my piano lesson with another teacher when I was in ninth grade. During that summer, I gave my first recital. Notes on my music were nearly covered by my red pen, and I looked forward to practice, imagining that cheers and applauses from audiences of my following concerts. I was feeling excitation when my fingers were exercising on keyboard that made small quantity of endorphins released It’s the personal importance that playing piano for me makes life all the difference. I was nervous to perform in front of everyone. I couldn't control my fingers because they were shaking so badly. My sweat dropped on the keys, but eventually I did my best in my first recital. I received a lot of applause from the audiences. At that moment, I was very grateful to my first strict teacher. She was the reason that I could do so well on my performance.

Failure Story

Hello. I would like to describe what I had experienced while coming to Columbus.

In the early morning on the August 31st, I left my hometown, Chitose City, Hokkaido, with my family seeing off. It was cloudy on that day, as if it showed what I was worrying about the life in US. 2 hours later, I arrived the Narita airport, it locates on the city close to Tokyo. And after several hours later again, I finally left Japan. There were not problems so far.
On the plane heading for O'Hare, passengers who are in non-immigrant visa status were required to fill in a paper called "I-94". Behind of the paper I found the notice saying " This Side for Government Use Only", therefore I ignored it. It was mistake. The muscular officer at passport control threw the white paper violently with saying something. I could not understand what he uttered so decided to ask other officers. But it was not until when I found her after an hours of the rejection. I managed to get out from there, of course by having get through other officer's gate.
The disaster continued. When I was waiting for a plane to Columbus at O'Hare, I felt very strong drowsiness because I could hardly sleep at the plane for excited. So I decided to take a rest sitting on the chair, next to the boarding gate68, whose number was also on my air ticket. I was negligence and forgot their way of working. Before 30 mins the plane took off, I was still on the chair because there are no announcement. I begin to feel that it is strange, so looked at the display offers information about flight. I was correct this time. The gate has changed to "67",without notice. I confirmed my ticked many time, but it said "68". But I saw many passenger boarding from gate 67, so I asked the cabin attendant about it, and she said something positive.
In a such way, I could reach Columbus at almost midnight, with very kind welcome from my roommates.

the story about my dog

Today I would like to tell a thing happened to my dog, ruika. I kept him since I was in grade 8, he was a very naughty dog that he used to like run out secretly when he was young. The first time he ran out my mom and I was so nervous that we running all over our estate to yelling at his name. Fortunately we found him at last. As the frequency of his running out for fun raised, we knew he is eventually going to coming back with dirt. So we were kind of relief and didn’t take that as a serious problem. However their happened once that he ran out and didn’t came back for two days. At first we didn’t pay much attention to it, but as the day over and night came we become a little bit worry. I searched the whole area he could be but there wasn’t any of his trace. That time we truly realize the severity of the issue. We printed out many leaflets about our dogs, we went far to check other area, to asked for information about my dog. My mother even found more people here to help seeking. One of her friends suddenly popped out an idea: “why not go to the pet shop? He might be taken by a warmhearted shop owner.” We all think it is a good idea so we decided to seize any possibilities. The next scene I’m never gonna forget. When we enter the shop, our dog started to bark in an abnormal sound, like begging and anxious. The shop owner let him out, he pounced on me heavily, I held him tightly and calling his name. that night we all felt satisfied and relieved.

After that, our naughty boy never ran out again. So it is a happy and warming story. Isn’t it?

The butterfly lovers

This story is a Chinese famous classic tragedy almost every Chinese kown it and it is extremely beautiful for me. Let me translate it into English here. One thousand and six hundred years ago, there was a rich man lived in a village called " Zhu Jia Zhuang" and he had only one daughter named " Zhu YingTai ". The rich man's family had a rule from their ancestor which described only son can inherit all of the family possessions otherwise the property would be distributed to their relatives. In order to let his only daughter inherit his possesion, the rich man dressed her daughter as a boy after she was born. In this way, the girl was enable to go to school because at that era girls were not allowed to study in the school, only man could do that meanwhile children could not say no to their parents . When she was in the school she met a boy named " Liang Shanbo", they were classmates and they were congenial with each other and liked each other more than friends, the boy thought "Zhu Ying Tai" was a boy just like him but the girl was loving the boy. After they finished the study in the same school, the boy was decided to go to another city to have further study whereas the girl was at the age which was soon to get married in a couple of years and her father did not allow her to go to anthor place with a boy. Before the boy's leaving, the girl was tired a couple of time to show him that she was a girl by letter, but the boy was too honest and tolerant to figure out the truth. The girl was disappointed at him but she did not give up loving him. She told him that she wants him to match her sister with him when he came back, and the boy said he will try. Several years later, the boy came back to meet the girl at the same day the girl's father determine to make the girl marry to a man who is the richest in the city. The girl dressed up and became a very beautiful lady to meet the boy, and the boy was as if wakening from the dream. He foud out that he was loving the girl more than anyone in the world, but he was only a poor guy without power to change the girl's father's decision. Before saying goodbye, the young man and the young lady promised marry each other at some day.  Sadness and bitterness of seperation killed the boy at the end, which made the girl so grieve that she was about not to live. At one day, the girl went to the boy's grave to commemorate him and a wind blowed through the girl and she disappeared but there were two butterfly flying together and they were the boy and the girl finally together...

The girl and the black stone

Once upon a time in ancient times, in small village in India. There was an unlucky farmer. The unlucky farmer barrow money from an ugly old man who likes the farmer’s daughter so he proposed a bargain “ If he marry the daughter, He won’t want the money back.” So the farmer and his daughter felt afraid, so the old man suggest that he will let the farmer and his daughter to their destiny to do. He said that “ he will put two stones in money’s bag, one is white and the other is black and the girl should take one

1- If she took the black stone, the old man will marry her and give up her father's loan.

2- If she took the white stone, the old man won’t marry her and give up her father's loan.

3- If she reused to take any, her father will go to jail.

All of village residents were standing on a pebble-strewn path in the farm. The old man took 2 black pebbles from the ground and put them into the bag, but the girl was looking clearly toward him so she noticed. Then, he asked the girl to take one.

Imagine you were there, what do recommend to do?

If we analysis the situation would produce three possibilities:

1-The girl would refuse to pick the stone.

2-The girl should prove there are 2 black stones in the bag and the people will discover that the old man is a cheater.

3-The girl pick the black and sacrifice herself to save her father from his loan and jail.

A moment of hope in this story, that’s showing us the difference between lateral and logical thinking. The girl’s problem can’t escape if we used the traditional logical thinking.

Think of the results that will occur if the girl chose the logical answer questions at the top.

Once again, what do recommend doing?

The girl picked one stone from the bag, but she didn’t open her hand to see which color did she pick? She fall down and lost the stone so everybody decided to see which stone was remain in the bag. Obviously, it will be the opposite of other stone that she just lost it. They saw that the black stone was reminder so she picked the white.

Lessons learned from this story:

There is a solution to complex problems, but we are not trying to think. Work smart and do not think so hard.

I translated it from Arabic to English

Blog #2 - "Tell Us a Story"

In this blog, we will practice the art of storytelling. Think of a story from your life or culture. It doesn't have to be the story you will use for your digital story but just a story you can share with your classmates. You will use this skill as you tell your own story. Write this story on the blog. Again, be descriptive and informative (giving details) in telling the story. Try to write about 300 words. Put your story writing in paragraph form with the appropriate format and give the story a title. Also, tell us the source of the story (who told you the story or where it comes from).
