In "The San Francisco Academy of Comic Art collection"(URL: http://digitalstory.osu.edu/movies/amy-f.html), Amy McCrory, presents a value of a cartoon drawing in newspaper before television in the united states. Also, the cartoon shows everyday daily life at that time. She point out that, at first, the cartoon was considered as an valueless items from historian for a long time, because the publication of comic in newspaper became common in daily life such as generalization in a libraries, as a result it's copy become rare. In 1960, comic historian Bill Blackbeard began to collect comics in his house, and he filed tons of them in a room. In the 1996, when he lost his house, he searched a library to keep the collection, and the keeping place became the OSU library, also she volunteered to put comics in order, because she know the value of the collection and took a second look at history.
In my personal opinion about this Digital Story Telling, the topic is well organized from the beginning -her interests in the comics- to the end -her opinions-, also it is very interesting and stimulating curiosity with old television cartoon sound with classic comics. There are a lot of images to show what kind of cartoons in newspaper at that time, and it offer well understanding about old fashion in the history. However, her speech feels like a hollow voice even she tell favorite fields, so I cannot focus on her voice and it made boring although she made good story.
