Blog#5 Digital Story critique

In Sarah Hall’s digital story, “What do I want to be when I grow up?” she discusses what kind life she wants to have when she grows up. Sarah spends her entire life trying to answer this question. She grows up in a small town. During her college she gets several experiences traveling to big cities tries to find out and show the world what she could do. During her trip, she realizes that even she was successful but she would be happier surround by people who she loves. She observes that “what does she want to be when she grows up” after she well-education and graduating from college. She brings the question up again after she gets more knowledge from school. She becomes s student counselor after graduated from college. She loves her job, and helps people to find out the answer of their future and life. She quotes two sentences in the end of her digital story, and conclude that the best question do not have only one answer.

I like the way Hall organizes her digital story. The background music doesn’t louder than her voice, and her spoken voice is clear and consistently. I can easily get the purpose of Hall’s story in the beginning of her story and topic. Her pacing fits the story line and brings me really get into her story. Hall’s images and music stir emotional response well. In the of Hall’s digital story, she concludes her point of her story by using John Lenson and Confucius’ word for ending.
