In the digital story “Digital Storytelling: Text to Video”(http://digitalstory.osu.edu/movies/diaz-f.html), the author Karen Diaz described digital storytelling from different ways. Diaz firstly addressed what she learned from stories when she was young. It is the first part of this digital story as an introduction of the topic. The author started to state the different roles that she played in her current life which can be topics of a story and the significance of telling a story in communication. Diaz mentioned her own experience of making this digital story from separate processes like editing the script, choosing the music and images to support the main thought and emotion of the story. Lastly, the author presented the diverse and flexible choices that you can make with your story and what the readers can get from you story.
I have seen several digital stories on the website but eventually I chose this one to summarize and evaluate because that this story has good quality of voice and music and excellent organization of the article for understanding. I can catch the main point of this story easily. Furthermore, the unique feature of the story is the usage of music. In the first part and last part, the author chose leisurely and melodious music as the background. However, when talking about her life experiences in the middle part, the music turned to be cheerful to emphasize the importance of this part. And, the images and the text match perfectly. Personally, I think there is still something can be improved like making the title and the introduction more attractive and the main point more clear and meaningful.
