In the “The Oxford English Dictionary”(URL:http://digitalstory.osu.edu/movies/fields-f.html), written by Anne Fields on April 2007, describes the production of this OED dictionary. There were hundreds of people from all around the world helped to finish this dictionary. It was a very difficult work because they imagined collecting millions of words in 15 volumes and finding out all of their meanings. Some of those words even have more than two meanings. People collected those words follow the order from a to z. It’s a super big book and they began to compile words in 1854 and they didn’t finish in 1928. Nowadays, people are still adding the word in this dictionary online and the dictionary is translated all around the world. And at the end of this digital story, the author stressed the main idea “letters make words, words make language, words change over time, language change over time.”
In my point of view, this digital story has a good main idea “letters make words, words make language, words change over time, language change over time.” And Anne described the process of creating a dictionary is very detailed. Very clear voice with good rhythm of the music and the picture also shows the author’s idea clearly. This story is also told with exactly the amount of detail throughout and appropriate organized.
