The gorgeous city I grown up in----Xiamen

My name is Gina, and I am a Chinese girl. Today I would love to share something about the city I grown up with everyone. This might not be the famous city as shanghai, but it has the amazing views and pleasant living environment.

Xiamen is in Fujian province, the city is consisting of a peninsula and a small island. The city is half surrounded by the sea and half by the mountain so it stays the comfortable weather like LA in California. These all gives Xiamen a unique natural environment. In our history this city use to be the place where lived a large sum of foreign people, they left the western styled structures in the city especially on the island, so In Xiamen, you can feel a totally different city atmosphere, which is a harmony combination of western and eastern structures and even culture.

My mom used to finish her college in that city, after she graduated she met my dad, they had me, and worked in that city about 3 years. It was my wonderful experience. In my mind Xiamen is a peaceful and relax place. You can always see people seating in front of their house do nothing but enjoy the tea and the time. In that city people don’t have to be in a hurry, there is no such stress as in Shanghai. They really know how to satisfy themselves. I still clearly remember my parents usually like other Xiamen people made some tea after dinner; during spare time they always took me to different places in this city, to enjoy its beauty. We went swimming in the sea, my parents put me in a buoy and I just floated on the water. When we were tired we lied on the beach, otherwise sometimes I would run into the litchi hurst to grab the tasty litchi. At night the beach would be so quiet and the sky was clear enough to see a bunch of stars shining in it. That was the time when we look up to the broad starlit sky and share the feelings.

Besides views other things I want to recommend are the local dishes. As the city is near the sea so variety of seafood has been used as the main ingredient. My favorite dish is kind of like pancake, but is made of egg and oyster, and with sweet and spicy sauce on it. And there is another dish well recommended by the local people called shrimp noodle. They first smash the shrimp, then shape it into noodle and cooked with chicken soup. That was really a complicated dish but tasted incredibly yummy.

And I also want to mention something about Xiamen people. They are really nice person. If you go there as a traveler, the local resident will be willing to help you and proudly introduce the city to you. The Xiamen people like to treat the guest by serving great tea. So even though you are totally stranger to them, they still will invite you to sit down enjoy the kungfu tea and talk to you as a old friend. A large number of Xiamen people believe the Buddhism, so they used to spread their kindness as a religion.

Xiamen is such a nice place for people to live and think one day I will defiantly go back to that place and undergo my childhood again.
