Ivy League Tour

I had lived in south korea during almost my whole life as 21years.
Then i traveled america last summer with my family in 3weeks.
It was my first time in america. I had had fantasy about america and wanted to visit since i was young but it was not that nice as i thought. I thought anywhere in america is fancy and much way better than seoul. It was only partially right but close to wrong. Especially, i was disappointed NewYorkCity. New York City was dirtier, older and more boring than i expected. There was no hiphop music in harlem and brooklyn, the musical in broadway was boring, hot dog did not taste good, the skyline in manhattan was not that beautiful.

The trip was originally for visiting universities. The time was when i prepared transferring to america's university so i want to visit. That's the reason why the trip was named 'ivy league tour'. Some of them were not ivy league but it was named. I visited NYU, Columbia, Harvard, Yale, Princeton, U Penn, GWU, JHU, Syracuse. I was impressed that students love their university so much. Anywhere around the universities, there were full of stuffs which are related with their school - T-shirts, car plate, umbrellas and so on. I wanted to be like them. I was so motivated that i was able to be admitted to Ohio State University.

Even though i did not like very much america's appearance, i like their mood. Everybody can be a friend. In korea, It is really weird to talk with stranger but in america it was natural. I made friends in Baltimore and Broadway. I love hiphop and rap music so i talked with many african americans. It was so fun because in korea, nobody listen hiphop and rap.

This trip was meaningful that i can revise my stereotype about america and motivate to enter the university.
