My goals and a life long experience

This is a story of my goals in my life that I am going to achieve. My name is Aman Patel. I am a resident of Ahmedabad, India. I completed my high school at Ahmedabad International School. In my 12^th grade I used to wake up in the morning at 6:00 AM and used to go to bed at 11:00 PM at night. Time passed away very fast that I had no time to think what I am going to do So every day I used to look in the mirror and ask myself what about my dream? And finally one day I decided that I wanted to do something different so I decided that I am going to do my graduation in USA. Moreover, I had also chosen USA because over here the education is mostly based on practical knowledge.

After completion of my high school I started preparing for the Entrance test, I spent 4 months for preparing for the exam and also did pretty well in the exam. Afterword’s I started my journey by taking flight from Ahmedabad to New York, it was a too long flight it took almost 18 hours to reach USA. And then I took another flight from New York to Columbus. I arrived at The Ohio State University on 15^th September. As I was too excited to study in USA so I could not sleep in the flight. When I first arrived at The Ohio State University, I found out that people over here are very helpful. I had decided to make new friends as I had friends in my country. I saw that people over here are completely different, they are very helpful and they respect time. I also had a misconception about USA that education over here is easy as compared to India but after my first week of class I found out that people over here are having a huge competition and I had to study hard because of the competition and tough curriculum.

Since my childhood I used to play with block games and used to build houses, a car, etc. Thus I decided I would like to become a Civil engineer. Moreover, I selected Civil Engineering as my major subject because I wanted to do something, which could protect the environment, and at the same time I could use technology. I would like to thank my parents who have given me this opportunity to study in USA. I would also like to thank my father who supported me and kept challenges in front of me. I would also consider my father as a role model. He helped me out in a lot of things. For example, If I had a test next day and if I am not confident about how am I going to give the test so he would give me confidence and by that way I would achieve the target that I had to achieve in order to get admission in a good university. Thus I would say that my father has helped me a lot.

After completion of my undergraduate course that I have taken at The Ohio State University, I would like to get some work experience and after that I would like to pursue my masters degree.
